FAQs

1. What airport should I fly into?

The closest airport is Edinburgh Airport (EDI), which is well connected to the city centre by tram, bus and taxi.

2. How do I get from the airport to the city centre?

There are three easy options to get from Edinburgh Airport to the city:

• Taxi / Uber — The fastest and most convenient option, especially if you have luggage. The journey usually takes around 25–30 minutes depending on traffic.

• Airlink 100 Bus — A direct airport bus that stops at several key points in the city centre. It runs frequently, is affordable, and is very easy to use.

• Tram — The tram runs directly from the airport across the city, with multiple stops including the city centre. It’s reliable, comfortable, and a great option for most guests.

3. How far in advance should I book accommodation?

We recommend booking accommodation as soon as possible, as September is a popular time in Edinburgh.
Booking early will give you more options and better prices.

4. Is public transport safe in Edinburgh?

Yes — public transport in Edinburgh is very safe, reliable and easy to use.
We highly recommend using the tram, bus or taxi to get around.

5. How far are the ceremony and reception from each other?

The ceremony and reception venues are very close to each other — only a short journey by taxi or public transport (around 10–15 minutes).

6. Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will take place indoors, so you don’t need to worry about the Scottish weather.

7. If I would like to rent a kilt, where can I do that?

If you’d like to wear a kilt for the wedding, you can easily rent one online or from kilt hire shops in Scotland. You can explore some options here:

If wearing a kilt, we kindly ask that you avoid the Patriot Weathered tartan or similar patterns.

8. Will there be an open bar?

Guests will be welcomed with a drink on arrival, wine will be served during dinner. After that, further drinks will be available to purchase at the venue bar.

9. Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask guests to avoid taking photos during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present, and so our photographer can capture the moment.
You are very welcome to take photos during the reception.

10. What is the weather like in late September?
Late September in Edinburgh usually feels fresh and autumnal.
Temperatures are typically between 10–16°C, and the weather can change quickly, so we recommend bringing layers and a light jacket.
